This is a very belated comment but I love how well the last panel captures Phin and Ulrich’s personalities and different outlooks in general. Ulrich wants to always have a plan and to know what the heck is happening, so as I see it, he’s underwhelmed not so much by the navigation method as the fact that all he gets is “we’re going in THAT direction.” Whereas an arrow to follow is all Phineas needs, and who even cares which way they’re going, isn’t this huge glowing arrow so cool???
