Oh Tolouse honey… So this has never happened before. With all he’s done and tried in different iterations of the time loop, she’s never been afraid of him or rejected him. This is going to hurt, especially if the brothers follow suit 🙁

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit lost and would need to re-read the entire comic because I forgot a lot, but I at least re-read this arc. I think Toulouse might be cursed maybe? As in, he’s not the prophet of the spider god, but possessed by it, as a host to another god. Both green themed, but we see Toulouse’s leaves dissolving here and it didn’t seem like Phin’s doing. Maybe Toulouse’s god isn’t green themed and it’s just the curse/possession/whatever.

  Honestly I often find myself confused sand struggling to pull the
  pieces together, but I do find it does eventually come together and make
  sense! The pain of a complex plot when the story moves one page at a
  time I think.
  
  I do think he is the prophet of the
  spider god, the spider god is just a dick. No idea how the time loop
  relates though, I cant figure out a motive for it, but I assume thats
  because we dont know enough yet
