  It is! I really just wanted to get these posted since they were so late so I didn’t dig through the archive to find all the comparisons that would make this connection easier, but we got a sort of decent look at Crow on page 360 and 361.

Actually, wait, it being Crow makes a surprising amount of sense. Both named after birds, though one’s first name and other is last. (Even still that sounds like even more obsessively name theme than if it were both first or both last name…) Explains how the two of them got their start working together. Also explains why he has such a hard time actually trying to kill Crow even when he supposedly hates him.

(Only real question is if Crow knows magic too and just went into commanding later, or if it just fits pretty well and is completely wrong anyway.)

  They grew into different directions so they’re not quite identical anymore, but Crow and Raven are definitely siblings.

    It’s a hard thing, not just for him as a wizard, but also him as a person.

Like everyone else it seems I totally missed the fact that they were brothers, good job keeping those reveals obscure Aria.

  I put in a lot of little cues, I honestly thought it had been obvious for a long time! That’s okay though, I mean, I’m not gonna argue with a cool reveal moment that worked out better than I expected haha

if they are siblings, why do they have different last names? Is that purposeful on their part or is the rules in the other universe different than in this one?

  That’s a good question! I thiiiiink I may have answered it a little bit somewhere so I hope this doesn’t contradict that, but the jist of it is Gideon & company’s names kinda work differently from everyone elses’. They’re like stage names rather than real ones almost? Names are weird for commanders in general because they’re so tied up in word power, but that extended to everyone in gideon’s crew since they were all pretty much legends by the time it was all said and done.
