I posted about this a couple pages ago but it’s been a few weeks in Real Time, so here’s another reminder that Respite is fast approaching! For those who don’t know, you can get postcards and stickers from the crew a couple times a year for the low low cost of the pocket change in your couch every month. Here are the past year’s rewards. I’d like to have the winter set of postcard goodies sent out around the end of the month, so if you think you want in on the upcoming stuff please get your pledge in before the end of November!

I love that they’re both kind of right but also there was definitely a better way to handle this then both their methods and its great. I’m really loving this whole situation, you’re so good at making it complex and interesting and showing a problem that doesn’t have an easy solution

  Barring the obvious stuff like shitheads like Ray, I usually try not to write from a place of like, “oh this character is right/wrong and we’re all gonna Learn Something during this arc”. I think it’s a lot more fun when you just take a bunch of folks who are totally convinced they’re making the best choice and throw them all together. Real life doesn’t generally present clean narrative solutions to things so I don’t think stories always need to either, and as a writer it’s really cool seeing what conclusions readers come up with when they’re not being conditioned to think one party is always Correct.
  
  THAT SAID I do usually try to present a more satisfying story than real life does, so I hope y’all like the resolution we reach eventually hehe. Thanks for your thoughtful comment!

    I do have to say, and hopefully it doesn’t sound rude, but when I first started reading I was kind of put off by how every one seemed to be kind of a butt and no one was right, but as i kept reading it really grew on me and I really appreciate the difference it makes in the narrative. It makes much more complex and realistic feeling stories while also being fantastical and interesting and not tipping into the ‘everything is depressing and bad just like real life’ thing most stuff does. So, thanks for making something so unique and cool 😀
