  George Washington was a traitor in the eyes of the rulers of England. Need more information than this. The nature of the brand could mean it was gang-related (unprofessionally done). Just hairballing.

    yeah, its not (clearly as of this moment) a bad thing about Ulrich. I don’t think anyone a good person if they Brand other people, no matter the circumstances. That’s pretty much on the level of torture.
    *Edit* i’d even say that it gains him more points. I mean, its not a bad thing to be a traitor to bad people

WHELP.. my theory about breasts being involved were just flat out WRONG.. But good on you my dear artist, for making me think outside the box!

  A lot of people have theorized for a while now that Ulrich is trans! It’s a cool theory and I see why people might think that. While I’m super down with anybody headcanoning any of the crew as trans, I usually like to make it clear that that’s not canonically Ulrich’s Big Spooky Secret since like. Writing a character whose whole deal is being deceptive in dangerous ways, morally ambiguous, hates themself, and keeps alluding to having a terrible past Thing that will eventually catch up with them that they don’t want others to find out about is fine; having all that culminate in the SUPER TERRIFYING REVELATION that they’re trans is uh Not Great lmfao
  
  I don’t usually like to so specifically write off an entire theory but this one potentially could be hurtfully disappointing to a lot of folks so I don’t mind clearing it up a bit early. That said tho, again, readers are more than welcome to headcanon trans stuff all they like! We’ll also be getting more canon trans folks besides Jo (and Myla, although they’re not a main character so) eventually, promise, comics are just painfully slow haha
