Thank u to Liam, who, as usual, spent several hours with me figuring out exactly what I wanted to say with the German on this page.
Quick note, prompted by nothing: I’ve gone back and adjusted one of the sun sigils that went up wayyy back when the comic first started (the ones at the bottom of the comic on the About page). One of them had a star of david in it, which, while very much the result of my obsession with triangles and not any intentional Religious Thing, has been bothering me more over time so I finally decided to just change it. Nobody’s said anything, it just ate at me that in a comic that very aggressively fucks around with Christian symbolism (my lane), it could be inferred that the author also thinks Jewish symbols are up for grabs (not my lane). I designed the set of sigils together in one go very deliberately and had been hesitant to go back and change them too much, but I figure plenty of other less appropriative bits of art in this comic have drifted from their original looks over time and we’ve all survived so far. Anyway: if you’re someone who does the homework and you notice instances of that particular symbol are suddenly different, it’s not significant beyond the author becoming marginally more self aware over the last seven years. We’re all very smart and I think we can still do some fun anime mystery puzzles even if a couple of the lines have been moved.
I’ve also done a bit of site housekeeping, mostly cleaning up the FAQ on the About page and reworking the Extras page; for now, you can mostly find some previously inaccessible character music things and the tain speech key, but probably we’ll get some more stuff eventually! Thank you for reading.
