Rook Slight, on a quest to murder a lady for being dragged into her father’s suicidal revenge trip and surviving, considered a genuinely terrible person by Ulrich “plant a landmine on your hand during tea” Weiss, has still been making me go “she doesn’t deserve this, oh no” for the last several pages. Also, mildly concerning that phone holder has the symbol on it used to represent eyes.

  It’s because she’s so young, I think. Even if we hadn’t seen her as a kidlet it’d be obvious that Raven “let’s enslave an entire town for convenient labor” Slight’s parenting shaped her. I guess we’ll find out if she’s capable of change…or lives long enough to.

    listen idk what it is but i fucking HATE drawing phones and anything to do with them, almost every instance of his phone in this scene is getting redrawn when we get to print. For some idiot reason my brain throws an absolute shitfit at the concept of drawing phone details while also drawing the rest of a page so i have to just Get It Done and move on even if it’s sloppy or else it’ll take an extra week to finish a dang page laksjdf
    
    just wanted to clear that up since jewelry is sometimes really important in this comic and i don’t want to throw anyone off lol. Y’alls’ ideas about the symbols are still relevant tho, that part was definitely on purpose

  I’ve been really surprised that people were interested to see her again at all, let alone that people have sympathy for her? I’ve mentioned before that I don’t usually write any character with the express intention of people liking or hating them so it’s certainly not a bad thing either way, but it’s cool that people are reading some amount of complexity into someone who was (from the audience side) just sort of a bratty secondary villain a million pages ago. I’m real glad people are into this chapter so far for reasons I hadn’t considered before, sharing a story is so much fun

      It was a shock when it happened because of how much of a penitent show Ulrich was putting on, but it’s hard to say it was undeserved.
