in other news, just because it’s been a hot minute since I last mentioned it, Dusk has his own incredibly shameless incredibly self-indulgent playlist on the extras page if you’re into that.

EDIT 2/15: Hi friends a concerned customer reached out to me and it looks like when I took the listing for book preorders out of the shop it might have hidden peoples’ incomplete orders? Don’t panic, I still have them on my side! If you placed an order your payment has been processed and I ordered all the books last Friday, on the 7th, without any apparent issues. This is the same printer I’ve worked with for all of KC’s books in the past, so assuming Covid or USPS issues don’t interfere I’m estimating I’ll have the books in my hands by the end of the month; once that happens, I’ll send them along and you should get an email from storenvy with your tracking info. I’ve used this method for everything so far, but to be honest this is kind of the first time I’ve gotten a bunch of preorders outside of the ring of longtime readers so I probably haven’t made as many announcements during each step of the process as I ought to haha.

The comic’s grown a bit in the time since the last book came out. I’m glad y’all are here and I’ll try to communicate a bit more! If you ever have questions, especially with regard to something like a shop order, please feel free to contact me with any of the methods on the author page. That said, here’s a list of places where Things Get Announced outside of this website:

Discord, which has a channel specifically for announcements and is by far where I talk the most about shop related stuff (also pings you when a new page goes up!)
Patreon; most of it is patron locked, but any news here that doesn’t appear on the public social medias specifically has to do with patron rewards anyway lol
Tumblr and Twitter; outside of the website these two are the priority for any kind of general announcement. If the website is ever having trouble or offline, check this twitter!
Mastodon technically, but the kc account over there doesn’t have many followers so it doesn’t get much outside of actual page reminders

  I didn’t get to say it earlier because I was in a hurry after posting the page, but I’m SO happy you thought to bring this up haha. Rook’s mood definitely shifted back to bratty on this page compared to the last one because she had the same realization; if he really wanted her dead he would have done it already, she’s Somehow Worth Keeping and she knows it lmao

Dusk is a Star Guardians fan? Is there a clue to that in today’s strip that I’m not picking up? ( I don’t think Ellie would want to give him an autograph.)

His teeth look like they’re crumbling to me, same as when he started to monster out before, but those aren’t toothy bits in the blackness are they. They’re starry bits. It just finally clicked for me that he’s probably some kind of tain creature.

And Rook still isn’t going to be nearly as afraid of him as she ought to be. He’d eat her just like the bunny if he thought she would be tasty. Maybe this job serves the dual purpose of fattening her up, magically speaking…

  In addition to the pages going up slowly and us only flashing to it once the screenshots we’ve seen have all been pretty abstract and blurry, BUT Dusk has had Star Guardian Sunny on in the background while they’ve been on this train lol. That’s what we’re seeing in the fifth panel on this page, and in the sixth panel on this page.
  
  Now that you’ve pointed it out I’m realizing this flatscreen television totally looks like a painting both times we see it WHOOPS. I’ll fiddle around with it a bit and see if I can’t make things a little more clear.
