I wash my hands of this weirdness.

Ulrich does very occasionally lapse into German, and while I do my best to research as much as I can before I finalize his script I’m unfortunately not fluent in the language myself. If anyone who is catches any glaring mistakes and is willing to help out please let me know and we can get it corrected! Eternal apologies for bastardizing your language.

Is Ulrich supposed to be cursing here? Because he just yelled “snout”
Where you going for “scheisse” / “scheiße” (same word)? that’s what people generally yell angrily in German.

  Ha ha I was afraid of that; I’d read that it means “muzzle” and could be used as slang when telling someone to shut up, but I have no one to double check my German with. I really appreciate you pointing it out! I do as much research as I can but I’m pretty much entirely ignorant.
  
  He doesn’t lapse into German too often but there are a couple more instances further on in the archive that I know of. If you end up deciding to stick around to read the rest and you catch any more mistakes please don’t hesitate to correct me!

Heh. And here I was thinking he meant “Schmeiße,” though that would be an odd think to explete. No way I would have gotten Scheiße from Schnauze. LOL!

I was confused about the German (Swedish is a bit similar to it + I took German classes for a few years), but then I read your comment and think it makes a bit sense actually!
In Scandinavia yelling something similar to “Snout” in respective language means “Shut it!”.

  That’s a good thing to hear from someone who’s multilingual! I’ve gotten a few comments on Ulrich’s (probably incorrect) German but I kiiiinda get the feeling a lot of the people who are calling me out on it are just plugging it into Google translate and getting indignant heh. Someday I’ll hire me a proper German translator~

    You did everything totaly right. I am a german and “Schnauze” means snout but is also a term of shut it.

      Oh good! I do a lot of research trying to get Ulrich’s German right, it was his first language so I try really hard to make it feel natural more than just “textbook” language. The “proper” way and the language people actually speak are often very different things haha. Thanks for your comment!
