This is a cool lore update, Telling us a lot, but still oddly double sided in what it tells us about Hastur, some seems to indicate a caring entity, others not so much, though this may be just the inability to understand “her” motivations. Not sure if the pronoun is appropriate to an entity of her type, you sat most gods have been scornful of the concept of gender but not whether Hastur is.
Interesting to see that she’s considered a small god, presumably leaving room for much more ridiculously powerful beings later 😉

  Compared to some of the others, Hastur has adopted a surprising amount of more human-ish traits. You’re right though, most of the elders are so abstract it’s hard to tell where they’re coming from even if they’re trying to work with you. Gods move in mysterious ways, and all.

The “least cruel” of the Elder gods, huh? Regardless of how benevolent Hastur is, that doesn’t seem to bode well for what the other gods are like. I hope we find out more about them though, all this information is super interesting!

Hastur has a great design. Most of the time when people try to draw eldritch horrors and abstract gods they either make them just a pile of vaguely organic goo or make the whole thing to symmetrical to seem ‘natural’, for a given value of natural at least. Haster on the other hand has enough asymmetry and ‘wear’ that she seems alive and active, as well as enough inorganic aspects to really look alien.

Now that I know that the “Queen” is an elder god and not a “person” per say I am less bothered by the mind wipe/reality screw thing when dealing with a problem. If it was a human being petty, than it would be more of a moral issue, but a lot of the time elder gods lack finesse or understanding of appropriate scale retribution.

  Yeah, the morality scales of “person doing these things to another person” and “unfathomable being doing these things to small humans” are considerably different
