    I get the spirit of humor, etc, in which this is written, but I’m going to reply to it seriously anyway because who will poop the party if the party pooper does not?
    
    If the implication is, yes, I’ll trade the life of this dictator for the lives of the people in the city–i.e. this is (albeit perhaps extrajudicial) an execution, it should most definitely not be done in anger, but in cold rationality that this is the only way. (In this case it’s probably also self defense and not merely done on behalf of the citizens, I realize. But, remember, I’m pooping the party in the first place.).

      I will clarify, since it might change the nature of the thing: the life Ulrich was considering more important than the rest of the city’s well-being was Agatha’s.

        Ah, I misunderstood. (My work blocks your site, so it took a long time before I could reply.) So it’s not “lives” as in life or death but lives as in “unnaturally super-comfortable lives vs whatever lives these people will live without the fake bubble around them” that are in the balance?

        Yeah! Ulrich did this under the impression that the city would fall apart, or at least destabilize dramatically, if he offed the guy running the creepy system forcing everything to go the way it’s been going. Monty’s comment was either, like, an egotistical “this city will STRAIGHT UP die without me!” OR maybe he knew something we don’t about how it’s run. We’ll see in the morning I suppose hehe

Man, is this the first time we’ve seen Ulrich actually prepared to kill? He’s shot at people plenty, but usually went for nonlethal. And he doesn’t even use the guns here, it’s all him.
