  Ulrich’s glasses situation is vague at best right now haha. He seemingly went without them for the majority of the first arc, but because everything Ulrich does is some form of stage magic bullshit his glasses, his sunglasses, and the lenses in his mask are all actually the same object. They probably DO help with SOMETHING if he keeps them around so constantly.

It still feels like Monty was doing something to him there, either that or it’s much easier to mess with Ulrich’s facade than it seemed.

  Yeah, it feels like Monty was talking to him.
  Specifically, he was asking questions about events in Ulrich’s life that obviously left him with lasting trauma.
  I am quite sure Monty didn’t know that. He didn’t intentionally wake up old wounds still filled with never-healed hurt. But it’s done… and if it can help Ulrich connect with the need to address (rather than repress) those old hurts, then it was a good thing!

    The idea that Monty didn’t have a good idea of what he was doing, for someone so thoroughly obsessed with Ulrich, is tenuous at best. It would be good to keep on the table that Monty is trying to twist Ulrich to his own, as of yet mysterious, ends.
    
    Maybe Monty already knows Bel’s story. And wants to make sure Ulrich pays for it.

I’ve been a longtime lurker, and I’ve been loving this comic. I’m breaking my years long silence because I could not stop laughing at the idea of Monty installing a secret-passage style Scooby-doo bookcase door that just leads to a hallway with a bathroom. That reveals more about Monty’s character than anything he could say.

  I’m delighted my dumbass anime managed to bring you out of hiding, but SINCE THIS IS ACTUALLY A VERY IMPORTANT PLOT POINT IN APPROXIMATELY THREE PAGES I think I might need to rewrite that bit of dialogue if that’s the impression you got; I meant to imply that the bookcase they came through in the first place would open back up so Ulrich could leave the study. I was afraid people would think I forgot and just. drew this hellscape trophy room without any visible exits and Ulrich phased through the wall to get out or something lmao

    Ahh. I’m slightly embarrassed to say I’d forgotten they entered the trophy room via Scooby-Doo bookcase initially, so I’d assumed the path to the bathroom was through an additional Scooby-Doo bookcase.
    I don’t know that a rewrite is necessary, personally, my confusion is just due to the nature of enjoying a story broken up this way rather than enjoying it all at once. That being said, your pacing is generally splendid, and your establishment/escalation of tension these last couple weeks has been excruciatingly suspenseful. Keep up the wonderful work!

Seriously dude what do you put in that air that he’s looking like that (and are you disappointed he’s not drinking because that won’t hit him? Or just don’t want to be drinking alone? (Considering you just met today (or was it yesterday?) I think calling him “darling” might be a little too soon….))

  OHHH I was wondering where they went! I noticed them while I was checking the site the other night but I had been drinking, I thought I made them up when they were gone the next day lmaooo. Yeah I let them through they should all be there now! Looks like four of yours had been caught in the filter, I don’t get notifications for it or I would have approved them earlier. Just let me know if it happens again in the future haha
