Thanks so much for your patience! Estate stuff has been kind of brutal lately.

EDIT 2/27: The next update will be four pages, sit tight. I’ll be back with an estimate once I have one, aiming for the next couple weeks.

EDIT 3/10: I got like 7 panels to ink then the color should take a couple days, maaaybe update next week if nothing ridiculous happens?? which isn’t out of the question BUT there u go thanks for hangin in there!

Hard to get tone from text sometimes, and this is one such time with Phin at the end… And phooo, is it making me imagine a cavalcade of possibilities. Surprise, lack of function, apathy, concern, desire to wait… It’ll be interesting when the next bit roles around.

Also… Hooo geez. This one is presenting an interesting attitude that seems to reflect its people. One I more expected before the actual appearance. Interesting that things are falling apart, but it may as well be discussing the weather, or a loan. Something to be said of a deity business-being that sells you yourself, at cost of your subservience and worship. The words speak of loss, but the attitude say “You must pay for what you cost me. Also, you owe me for making you so you could owe me for making you.”.

Hopefully this awakens people.

Also, final though for now: I am very worried about where the sword was going to end up before Junie stepped in.

Augh! Junie is seconds from being eaten while Tolouse is straight up ready to kill his own god. (I wonder if he *can*. And if he has before, and what happened.)

I’m certain Agatha and Ulrich will jump in to protect the kid and back him up any moment, but there’s only one person in this situation who can really go toe-tp-toe with a god, and she seems to be mentally checked out? She’s looking down and to her left, what is she seeing that the others aren’t?

Toulouse spends a lot of time talking and preaching about the kindness and forgiveness of his God because that’s the part that matters the most to him, but then his God actually shows up to be a dick and Toulouse is immediately ready to throw hands like he can beat it into the shape it should be, the kind of god he’s put all this work into protecting the idea of. That sounds like the kind of hubris Phineas encourages, when I think about it.

omg i’ve been thinking about it and i have a theory on why phin is hesitating here
at the beginning of the chapter Gideon crashed into the birdcage and did something to Toulouse, what if hes a commander too and this “azusa” is a manifestation of the two of them being raised in a cult. so Phineas doesn’t want to attack them since they realized its not a god when this avatar appeared??

It took me way too long to connect the dots: Toulouse’s little fixes? Fixing broken things, freshening up flowers? And now he’s in a time loop?

He was turning back time.

I don’t know if he’s aware of it at this stage, if this is a deliberate choice or not – it sounded like he thinks he’s stuck in it, which implies that he doesn’t think he has control. Maybe he doesn’t it depend, given how his powers apparently come from god (this one?). But given how bad things apparently have been going, I can see him wanting to try over and over until he can achieve a happy ending, or at least one where his family doesn’t kill his new friends.

Also, I keep thinking about “kindnesses”…
