EDIT 12/22: hey REAL QUICK James Somerton is still showing his ass on the internet and I learned he apparently did some stupid shit where he like, conned people into doing his Patreon by pretending to be on the brink of homelessness or something?? idk it pissed me off so despite my mortification I will in fact be making all my earnings public, setting up a monthly goal, and explaining exactly what my current financial deadline looks like once I get back from tennessee. I’m still mortified about it but I don’t want to resemble that guy even a little bit so look for that soon lmfao

I’ve technically been working on it a bit longer, but December 23rd marks ten years since I started posting Kidd Commander regularly. Neat! We’re gonna be traveling to see Lee’s folks for the next week so I’m glad I was able to get this page up before we left.
I’ve been ruminating on this fact for a while already so I don’t actually have a whole lot of sentimental stuff to say about it right now, but I WILL take the comic’s birthday to remind everybody my whole operation here is uh. Pretty hilariously unsuccessful, given how long I’ve been doing it and how much of it there is! I was lucky to be able to rely on my partner before we escaped the south, but if the comic doesn’t start getting more support soon I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep making it. I’d very much like to see this thing through to the end, so if you’d also like to help make sure we get all these guys where they’re going please consider tossing a dollar or two at it through whatever method you prefer. It all helps, if all my regular readers were pledging a dollar a month Somewhere we’d be set, so please don’t feel like your contribution doesn’t mean anything. I’m waffling on setting up a visible monthly goal on Patreon for transparency’s sake, but tbh I’m pretty embarrassed about how low the numbers are so we’ll see lmao
Speaking of Patreon, I announced over there that I’ve started work in earnest on the KC novelizations. Did you know I was doing those? I’m pretty psyched about it! I’m planning for them to be up for free like the comic is whenever they’re finished, but if you want to follow along while I work on them I’m gonna be posting about the process over there to the extent I can. I’ve never written a novel before! Isn’t that weird?
Thank you very, very much for sticking around all this time. I know this is a strange, sometimes abstract sort of story, and my target audience of queer weirdos who wanted More from their shounen is even smaller than I anticipated going in, but I’m so glad anybody is listening to it. Every single day I’m more and more excited to be working on Kidd Commander and I’ll be right here doing that as long as I’m able, I hope you’ll be here too.
