Sorry for the wait! Here is some news you may or may not have already seen:

Those of you who have been around a while might remember the ill-fated teespring campaign we tried sometime last year. Folks had been very vocal about wanting some KC merch and shirts were always the first thing suggested, so I gave it a shot. We were only one order short of the minimum needed to print but that still meant nobody got anything. I still feel bad about it! My audience is dedicated but very very tiny and even though I have a lot of ideas, it really limits what I’m able to do for you guys in the merchandise department.

WELL I’m trying something new! After researching a bunch of different places I decided to open up a Teepublic shop for Kidd Commander designs, and there are two brand new ones available! I think this will work a lot better for a few reasons. First, there’s no time limit on how long the stuff will be available, so if you want one but maybe don’t have the cash right now you can still get one later! There are also no upfront costs for me to post things there (besides putting in the work to draw up the art of course), which means I can upload as many designs as I want instead of just offering one at a time the way I had to before, and everything should be in stock pretty consistently. Their printing method is fairly involved, apparently, and it’s one of the very few printers I’ve found that lets me use as many colors in the art as I need to with no extra charge. Kind of an important distinction!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, as far as I’m concerned, there are no minimum order numbers. If 50 people want an Ulrich shirt they can get it, if two people want one they can get it! I haaaate when I can’t do stuff that my readers ask for because of something stupid like my numbers not being big enough, I’m so appreciative of you guys and I wish I could give back more. This way you guys don’t have to go without just because I’m a lousy salesman.

New designs supposedly go on sale for the first three days after they’re posted, although this sale didn’t start until midnight last night. Oh well! They’re only $14 right now so now would be a good time to pick one up. Or don’t! It doesn’t matter either way because they’re not going anywhere! Isn’t that neat? Another neat thing is you could maaaybe use the promo code “shirtoid20” when you checkout to knock a few more dollars off the price, if it’s still working by the time you get there.

I’ve never made any detailed art specifically for a shirt before so I hope you like them. If you don’t, please tell me what you’d rather see! If you have ideas for shirts or any other merchandise you’d like to consume, do let me know. If you want something KC related I probably want to give it to you, so speak up! I also realize a larger single purchase like a shirt can sometimes be difficult, if merchandise is too steep for you but you’d still like to help me keep the comic running, remember you can contribute to my Patreon for 1 dollar per month! 12 bucks per year might not seem like a lot but trust me, every tiny little bit helps.

Can’t afford a shirt but I changed my avatar. And, hey folks, what about we try to vote up this wonderful comic on topwebcomics? Can we do it? Just use the nice button Aria made there somewhere on the right, vote everyday and make it reach the top first hundred? Well, we could practise this five-days-left month to see where it goes and then try for real next month. This comic really deserves more readers, don’t you think?

I realized this connection when I rewatched the film a few weeks ago lmao, I think I actually took a line from it somewhere in this chapter’s script. Kill Bill was my Ultra Favorite movie as a kid and it’s influenced my work a tonnnnnn. I do sometimes put in direct references to his films, and while this particular riff was an accident the fact that someone else would even think to compare me to anything Tarantino is super flattering! He’s one of my most major influences, I’m a huge fangirl.

In fact, while we’re on the subject of name origin easter eggs, Kill Bill is where Phin’s last name comes from~
