Well this is fascinating.
Ellie’s mum actually stopped Hastur from erasing the area her family was in, protecting it or hiding it in some way at the cost of her life.
Also, it shows that Hastur doesn’t just rewrite reality to fix mistakes, but apparently just erases everything in the vicinity like an arsehole.
New levels of respect for both Ellie and her mum here.
