Poor Ulrich’s vision is getting a little frosty there.
That flower definitely seems to part of Ulrich’s aesthetic, and KC tends to have powerful stuff based on people’s aesthetics.
I wonder if the shrinking and growing was done bey Eisse or if it’s part of the thing itself?

Eisse may think her magic is strongest, but the ability to be exactly where and when you need to be is a very powerful ability indeed.

  I imagined I was gonna do a self-indulgent little post with some of the foreshadowing when I finally revealed this, but that was back when I first wrote it during the first draft of this story lmao. There are so many tiny hints that got worked into the story now I’m not gonna bother, but if you managed to figure it out u done good ?

    I don’t even remember seeing the flower until now so I don’t know how anyone could have predicted this. ;-; Chekhov’s Gun I suppose, but I just didn’t notice it.

      It’s fine! Webcomics are slow, it’s hard to keep up with this shit haha. I’ll try and list some of the more obvious examples.
      
      We’ve definitely seen it before! Eisse has been wearing a pink flower in some capacity since she was introduced.
      
      Ulrich’s side isn’t as obvious, but pinkish flowers have been shown as part of his motif several times, even though everything we know about him so far points to his color being blue. We’ve also seen his flowers in the hands of other women, and Eisse apparently knew him in some capacity before we saw them meet in the canon.
      
      Some other stuff is pretty much only there if you squint, like Ulrich’s frequent discussion of plants and flowers and how weird it is that Eisse, an ice witch, would incorporate something like a flowering plant in her ensemble rather than, say, one of the crystals from her bedroom.
      
      I have difficulty gauging how subtle or not subtle my foreshadowing is, no matter what I do I always have people who guessed it way back and people who are totally lost. As far as it goes, it’s totally fine if you don’t see something coming! The story will go the same anyway hehe

        Ahh, thanks for refreshing my memory, haha! The flower fits Ulrich, and it also makes some foreshadowing you included on pg.245 make sense. I thought his ‘mistress’ was a person in the physical capacity, not a concept. Lady Luck isn’t much of a mistress, indeed.

This is interesting. So Ulrich wasn’t kidding when he said he was blessed with luck, huh? I guess I can believe it, with how the comic has gone so far, but the same can be said for any main character/character in a series. In a sense, they all have divine luck. Maybe we’ll be able to see it more when he gets the full set again (including flower)?

Fantastic twist to the thread here, Aria! I confess I’d forgotten about Ulrich’s flowers, but I already had a gut feeling about their relationship from two pages ago. You’re doing a great job of building this story up!

  Yeeeah, webcomics are a pain because something that happened even just ten pages ago could translate to months of real time with some schedules. I don’t mind posting reminders when I need to, and in any case I really appreciate that you guys are willing to stick around and find out where I’m going with all this!
