Ulrich in this page is probably what I would show someone if they asked me about his character, he looks very flustered, and those feelings he’s describing are genuine, or so close I can’t tell the difference. But notice how his hands are slowly getting closer to his chest, and Eisse didn’t disarm him earlier.

I know this is supposed to be sweet and sappy and everything… but this comic has conditioned me to believe that Ulrich is simply playing her along and things are gonna go pear-shaped in this scene in about 1.3 seconds.

I don’t know how to explain it (unless you’ve also seen how to train your dragon way too many times) but every time I read through this tea conversation and this Ulrich sets me a very specific kind of on edge

    It’s not a very good reference, just that the end music fighting the Queen dragon that kinda sounds like klaxons or alarms? Is just my mental anxiety music now and so that’s what the “soundtrack” to this tea conversation is to me. I should have thought about how incomprehensible that comment was, sorry! ^-^

      omg NEVER apologize for discussing the HTTYD soundtrack OR associating weird random noises with feelings lmaooo I do the same thing! There are reasons the sound effects are so weird and inaccessible in this comic pff

        I’ve never found the sound effects inaccessible! Sometimes part of comics is making weird noises
        (and I am not going to apologize for discussing the HTTYD soundtrack ever, it is very good. I will apologize for phrasing my comment like there was something in it you could get with familiarity with HTTYD when it’s just that my brain is weird)
