Eyes!!!
And they wear an exclamation mark hung on their hat, to emphazise everything they’re saying.
I love this last panel, and Artemis’ design overall.
I really appreciate it!! Dramatic panels like that make me a little nervous hahaaa. i’m still always just a liiittle afraid it won’t hit and it’ll just be awkward
Artemis strikes me as a character who would easily get a bit Meta, since they’ll be around a lot, and know more about stuff than most of the cast but won’t be saying much most of the time.
I like Phin’s grumpy admission of how cool it was, she’s just annoyed she didn’t think of it herself.
Aria
oooh yes, they definitely have the capacity for Weirdness

Looooooooooooooooooove this page! So freaking awesome!

Thank you! The response to this bit has been encouraging, I really wasn’t sure how patient everyone would be for yet another trip into the Star Conversation Realm haha
All your dialogues are so good. And the art just make them better still.

I do the best I can!

Does Artemis get a cast entry or is that not really their thing.
Following my dumb habit of thinking literally everything is this comic means something symbolically, The random objects In Artemis hat are.. weird.
A seashell, a bell and a fish-skeleton…
Different shells have different meanings, but I’m 90% sure that Artemis is wearing a tiny conch shell, which is “for difficulties in communicating, and as an aid in clearing up misconceptions” link here.
Bells were easier, and more clear-cut. this article explains it pretty well, but Bells generally mean Information, or getting attention.
The fish skeleton likely doesn’t relate to Artemis role in ancient mythology as shes very rarely mentioned as a patron goddess of fishing, and if the hat symbols were meant to align with the Greek gods symbol then Artemis would have deer horns.
I also couldn’t find anything that relates to fish skeletons in alchemical lore.
But there is apparent symbolism attached for *cough* dream meanings. the spirt world is sort of like a dream so here we go: “Seeing the bone remains of a dead fish in a dream means that insights have been brought to fruition and knowledge has been gained from these insights” link this
Tally everything up and Artemis likely chose these items to hang from her hat because they fit the current situation and were likely put there subconsciously to represent their intentions.
Aria
Ah the links don’t work! But I totally get what you’re saying, aaaa gosh I appreciate y’all being so conscious with your reading aklsjdf
I will say, the fish is just a reference to hazard! As shitty as the situation was I figured Artemis would still have some weird residual emotion about the whole thing and sort of commemorate it in their own weird little way.
We’ll be getting a character card for them asap, I just haven’t had time to sit and make one is all whoops

Gaaaah sorry I tried to be fancy and have the links embedded in the text to look less like a credit scam, the links are below:
Also, Artemis…you already told her some stuff, you know. Nothing real important, obviously, but you dropped hints when she was running the gauntlet. 😉
(But hey. It’s none of her business anyway. I’m sure she understands. I mean if there’s something you decide to share later on, your decision, but personal business that isn’t hers isn’t her business. It’s besides the point anyway, since being the nosiest commander around isn’t technically a goal either….)
