Heyyy we’re back, thank you for your patience! I know I’ve been talking about it more than usual lately (especially if you follow me on twitter) but I do wanna take a quick second to mention that my new PC was funded entirely with money from Kidd Commander’s Patreon. This isn’t the first time this has happened! Reader support was responsible for getting us through the last two Technology Mishaps as well. If it wasn’t for you guys, “little mishaps” like a non-functioning computer would derail updates for a lot longer than a week. In addition to that I also like to point out periodically that the website’s hosting expenses are also covered by those dollars. That’s amazing! I’m so grateful for whatever support you readers see fit to throw in my comic’s direction, you guys are literally keeping the lights on around here and that’s just the coolest. I’ll keep working hard to earn it.

In more technical news, I’ve made some major changes to my workflow and I’m still acclimating so I apologize if the art between this page and the last seems a little jarring. But that’s not really a new thing around here, is it?

FINALLY if you tend to stay out of comment sections, reader Caribouchat recently set up a TVTropes page for KC! Neat! Maybe that is a thing you’d be interested in.

Oh wow. I didn’t know the patreon support was helping that much. And I think you’ve definitely earned it so far, but working hard for your goals is still a good thing.

Also, nice TVTropes page Caribou! I might have to go back there and help with that. (Been a few years since I’ve been there.)

  It really does!! I’m not making nearly enough for KC to be a source of significant income so it’s got a long way to go, but for now I funnel all its earnings into a budget for keeping the website up and whatever other expenses might happen. Like “my comic machine broke and I need to replace it ASAP.”
  
  Not to mention it’s a real boost for morale around here, haha.

It’s funny. I added some stuff to the TVTropes page.

As I totally expected, I screwed something up.
(I accidentally deleted an entry without even realizing it until someone asked about it!)

Anyway, so a piece of starstone’s effective power generation and capacity for sentience are both directly related to size. That’s….mildly fascinating. The more powerful the ship the safer you are, but the more cunning your ship is the safer you aren’t. So it’s a wash on defense, but at least you can go faster, right? (Unless you and your ship have a good relationship, then it’s double safer. Which is just best all around. So basically you want to keep your ship happy……that sounds…mildly tedious, heh.)
