Oh come on not-Monty, now we DEFINITELY can’t adopt you
Aria
just can’t leave well enough alone can he
Sandman366
But hey, at least odds exist now that he’s actually being honest about that.
……not good odds, but non-zero…..

I feel like the whole “we’re going to arrest and have you all blanked” approach is also being left out because the universal response from all three(!) of these insanely powerful mavericks would inevitably be “we’d like to see you try.”
And despite all the posturing, I get the strong feeling that Zula and her peers realize that would have a far worse outcome than the murder of Monty Godfrey did, even if they win.
Panels 5 through 8 exemplify my point rather well.
Aria
I didn’t want to spend time or dialogue outright stating this point but I’m DELIGHTED this was the impression you got haha. Zula’s not a slouch and the weather folks definitely have a death grip on Decodenn so the posturing isn’t COMPLETELY unwarranted, but they’re not stupid. She just watched these guys wreck one mad scientist’s estate while they were in party clothes, Zula knows full well it would be more trouble than it’s worth to try and pick a fight with them while they’re in the heart of her compound and already looking for a fight (and Myla’s feelings really do count for a lot as far as Zula’s concerned, even if it doesn’t look like it rn).
they’re so freaked out by ulrich they wouldn’t even let him wear his shoes into the interrogation room lmao. they just want the complement the hell out of decodenn before they cause any more problems
Sandman366
So they were probably also under the threat of Agatha doing some unannounced remodeling if they ever were out of line?
Which means…they know Agatha can beat the crap out of all of them, Phineas can, at a minimum, fight Agatha to a standstill….and Ulrich literally has tricks up more than just his sleeves. (….probably because his sleeves were already too full….)
Props to Zula for still holding composure in front of that lineup. Especially when they’re losing practically falling over the line into flipping out……
Chromoid
Always nice when the subtle undertones shine through! And yes, I do realize Zula and the rest are very strong in their own right. Just not “two stars and a magician” strong. Likewise it’s very obvious that Myla has some serious pull with at least Zula. Zula doesn’t strike me as the kind who just rolls over for any bleeding heart with a sob story.
Katie
To be fair, his shoes are decidedly deadly weapons. 😛
Sandman366
Uh, no, I think you’d rather Phin running out of the room right now, there’s at least a 30% chance she’s going to at least make a show of holding Agatha back from wrecking this Monty….

It’s too generous to call people like her good or evil. It’s just lazy, stick with what you know, stick with the status quo, a padagram shift might be nice but we don’t know what would happen, we wouldn’t be able to control what would happen. People have a blindspot when it comes to the self, it’s difficult to admit that it’s not nessesary for whoever else will try to help to be perfect, or good, or even good enough, just for them to be better. A system of organisation for a city or a country is much like other sorts of networks. For example a companies information structure and this would be like adding onto a legacy system peacemeal whenever problems come up or just improvising a solution to deal with the latest problem which usually works out to doing whatever to get it out of the way quickly which is treated like solving it. Instead of what’s really needed which is a reconstruction of a lot of stuff including stuff that’s working fine right now, it’ll probably involve majorly reducing ability and allowing a lot of “solved” things to crop back up but it’s still better than waiting untill you have to do the same thing anyway but unexpectedly and without preparation. Be like the British royalty, not the French royalty.
