Aggghhhhh, Iām so ANGRY!! Like, proud of Agatha for trying to stand up for herself, but also MAD AT EVERYONE FOR BEING SO XENOPHOBIC AND FOR OBJECTIFYING AGATHA!!!! Also can KINDA mad at Toulouse for bringing Agatha to a mechanic(/doctor) that would treat her like that and not stepping in sooner (not mad at you, Aria, tho, this continues to be a great story and an intentionally infuriating arc)

Thank you!! I’m delighted it’s already gotten such emotional responses so far, I’m so excited for the rest of the story I can’t stand it lmao

The objectification part is a wee bit understandable. They know very little about machinery from the looks of things, and Agatha is… well, I’m not sure how much they know about Starstone or robotics, but even for those who DO know a lot about such things, she’s an anomaly. I personally don’t blame them for not catching on to the idea that she’s a person and not an item. Same goes for Toulouse. He’s doing his best, bless him, and while he’s clearly ashamed that the entire caravan is not playing nice with these outsiders, he can’t exactly change an entire village’s mind about them.
That being said, these people are treating the newcomers very hypocritically, and that is indeed frustrating to witness. Almost kinda wish Ulrich would let Kidd cut loose on them. Almost. I get the feeling more harm than good would come of it.

All right, Agatha!!! Stand up for yourself!!!

I love the irony of Toulouse, the literal prophet of their god, being the most open-minded individual of the entire caravan. Really echoes how little the caravan actually heeds the words of their own deity, much like many “religious” groups do today.

“One of ’em broke Frank’s hand!”
I guess he got to keep the hand, then? Should consider himself lucky, considering the last time “violence” and “Agatha” were on the same page together. š (Actually, everybody on that half of the “Caravan” should consider themselves lucky….)

Phin has had enough and she’s not alone.

Gosh, why -have- the moths been turning into spiders? I cannot imagine.
