this is not what i expected at all! I love the direction this arc is taking and im starting to really like Toulouse

It almost feels like Toulouse, rather than the events, are disjointed here. Like Toulouse is out of sequence. Things are odd for him, but also those around. Wonder what insight those two might bring. The third row is especially jarring and interesting. Is it detachment? Repetition? Differing minds/sets? Something else?

What of Lillian’s actions…? Almost feels like she’s out of character to her whole character, but in character to the moments “preceding” this.

A prophet watered with the blood of saints

Seems like Toulouse’s “everyone can be saved” philosophy doesn’t just extend to saving souls. Poor guy, you can really tell how this all is weighing on him and how having to fake things in the loops is twisting him up.

I wonder if that was the darkness grandma was sensing earlier? Toulouse waking up a little more unspooled from the timeloop each cycle.

Back around page 110 there’s all those lines about being washed in the blood, the soul cleansing blood, pure and white in the blood, and damn if this doesn’t seem like a callback.

I *really* thought Grandma was going to bite it there. But instead Tolouse answered one of my questions. He doesn’t worship the spiders anymore, he’s just trying to save his people. And I’m afraid she’s going to turn on him for it 🙁

(I really, really hope Agatha is okay. Both for her own sake and because Phin will probably disjoint time herself from sheer rage, and Tolouse surely can’t take another go-around of this loop.)

So! Bets on this being part of one of their prophesies? Someone being “covered in the blood” and then becoming “clean” as a result? Seems like the kind of thing that can easily be taken way too literally and/or seriously by these folks.
