Those last two panels… I think they best communicate that we still don’t understand, still don’t know everything…
Also, that last one is so impactful.

Up until he draws that spear, it seems like everyone except Toulouse has that web over them, and the tip of the spear is black, rather than green. I wonder what’s going on there? And then Toulouse turns white in places while the blood is being spilled. That certainly seems like a callback.
Oooooh ulrichs flower is glowing!!!! I should have more to say about this update but the flower glowing is making my head spin around. Also he definitely noticed! Look at that little shocked face!
No wait I got more to say, like I did not expect the stabbing the ghost, spirit spider to be so bloody! That is also super interesting. Anyway, as always thank you for a fascinating update!
just thought that maybe… maybe Ulrich connected his flower to Toulouse’s magic? I mean, to know when Toulouse uses it?

So, Toulouse's vines seem to flare up whenever he's in emotional distress. And they spill out into the world around him at the very worse. "This is new", and across the first two panels of this page. I'm not sure how diegetic they're meant to be.
But having all those black twisted emotional turmoil getting gathered up into a leafy spear of JUSTICE? Poetic as heck.
As with all children who were raised in a religion, there comes a time when you have to choose between following the ideals you were raised with, or following the church.
Toulouse has just made his choice.
(Has Ulrich's clover always been connected to Toulouse's God? Or did they connect it during one of those snuggley loops and it's somehow maintained a connection?)
