  i dont know, it's…
  you're a kid, bad stuff happens, you survive. the thing you become by surviving is too strong, too loud, too bright for everyone who 'knew' you before. That's what becoming does. and now you are strange in the world and the people you reach for draw away from fear and disgust. it makes you alone, and it's hard to not shrink back for the sake of not being alone. it's hard to look at the other parts of you and say "we should be each other." it's hard for them to look back and agree.
  i feel at most i just poorly summarize the chapter, but it was something I felt before too.
