EDIT 6/26: the hits keep coming lmfaoooo clip studio just crashed and corrupted the file for the next page so i have to start completely over, there’s no way it’s getting posted tomorrow. It’s a relatively simple one but I am already horrifically behind on everything because I took a week to recover, and fucking up my arm again trying to rush it isn’t going to fix any of that, so I GUESS we’re only getting one more page before FanExpo next week. I will try to get it redone over the weekend and up on Monday. considering becoming religious again to make a bargain of some kind at this point lol

Couple things: first, an extra newsletter went out last week, it’s pretty significant so you should probably check it out. You can read it on the web archive here even if you’re not subscribed.

uhh, fanexpo denver is next week and i’ll be there, i’ll have details about it later this week. Also I made a Cara account to use as an art gallery, it’s pretty stuffy over there so idk how much I’ll use it socially BUT if you’d like to browse kc art I’m slowly reposting everything there.

Gosh… I wish I knew what to say in response to the newsletter. Wish you were getting better numbers. Your art quality is frankly exceptional. Heck, I'd call it among, if not the best of the shrinking list of comics I follow as I age and struggle to stay above water myself. Ditto for the story. Kinda terrifying that all this might just vanish one day. Sets an ache in my chest to hear, despite knowing the possibility. for a long time.

Frankly, I cannot begin to understand why this comic does not have more draw. Yes, it isn't affiliated with any of the major collectives, nor is it really (outside the brief Webtoon period) on any other platforms, to my knowledge, but it has its own site, eye catching visuals and a grabbing description. Yes, it isn't doing the things that garner tens of thousands, but it feels like it should at least be nailing some of the lower bars. Wish I could think of more ways to help.

I try to support monetarily but I'm very limited. I try to support socially, but I'm rarely on social media anymore. And the material isn't something I can share on the child-friendly Discord servers I'm in. But it feels like there should be more that can be done. Hrm…

  I think if readers who have time and the knowledge of such things could add to the wiki and the tvtropes page, it would help…
  also, voting on TWC, at some point Aria said it helped a lot.

    Yeah. I definitely try to do that last one. I tend to miss more days than I hit, but I try.
    
    As for the first, I really, really want to help, but have to wait. Knowledge(some, at least) is something I have, time less so.

first off I wish I had anything really useful and non-platitude-y to say about the future of the comic/story, so I will settle for saying that I will be following KC and going to bat for it no matter what form it ends up taking, and I wish hard work and good intentions were enough to save anything in this stupid world, because it sure feels like this is happening to all of us.

secondly, color me surprised about the banality of Phin's resurrection backstory. This scene is really capturing the childhood trauma experience of telling a story about your past like it's a Funny Thing That Happened while everyone listening gets very quiet and serious and it starts dawning on you that maaaybe you're downplaying how much it affected you. The dismissive dialogue vs. the manic/restless body language and hair lengthening. Oh man.

I hate that this comic is so underappreciated, but at the same time I can understand, even if I cant fully explain why. I know myself, it was hard to get into. The characters were hard to like in the first arc for me, and so it was hard for me to get invested. It wasnt until the second arc that I really get drawn in. Which sucks, cause one of the things I love is that the characters grow and become more likeable over time.
