I love it when I scroll down and the author comments are more or less exactly what I was thinking 🙂
Aria
Me too! It’s good when we’re all on the same page haha.
It’s only the first arc so we haven’t got to see a lot of this side of her yet, but I’m glad to hear this! Confidence and stuff is cool, but I think it’s worth more if the confidence is in spite of some measure of doubt rather than just existing on its own. Taking risks is a lot less of an effort if you’ve never failed before.
Huh, so Brokenspectre is a star after all, I wasn’t sure either.
…did Ulrich just call Phin Mouse Bear? Basically darling?

The following is mostly speculation. A lot of it is assumed as we haven’t really seen a lot of Gideon, or his Star. and yet Phineas just describing Gideons star gives a clue towards what caused last universes apocalypse.
How the doppleganger commanders treat their stars is a another instance where Phineas and Gideon are different and there won’t be a repeat of last time. Phineas Would definitely have more empathetic feelings towards stars, seeing how one is fused to her heart. It’s a part of her. While Gideon acquired his, and “wore it like jewellery“. That line alone tells us a lot about how Gideon treats stars, not like sentient entity’s, but power to be wielded, shown off. (This is really assumed as the guy hasn’t even appeared in the comic yet) The other thing about jewellery is you can change it.
Both commanders we’ve seen so far seek the Sun; which we can assume is also a star. It would probably be called something different if being a star wasn’t it’s function. (Most fantasy terms in the comic are rooted in function, Walkers walk places. Star-stone is stone with a star in it ect)
A commander couldn’t have multiple stars in their body, it would (probably) rip them apart, and if a commander they wanted more stars, (and more abilities) they’d simply form a satellite, rather than having multiple symbiotic relationships. If Gideon were to take the sun, what would happen to his star? Commanders are pretty sensitive to emotion, and crave companionship. It would be pretty hard for Gideon to just let his star go and replace it with a new brighter one. So what if he tried to keep them both?
Well at least one of the three would die as each-others gravity tore them apart. And since Crow and his star are still kicking then the logical conclusion is he somehow destroyed The SUN. which we can to assume is the most powerful star. if it wasn’t, why bother seeking it? The destruction of the universe’s most powerful star would cause a HUGE black hole. The crummy bit? if it’s really this worlds sun then the planet would be the first thing to go. Which I think qualifies as an apocalypse

!!! I’m not saying anything but holy shit I love everything going on here aaa
I love this idea of Phineas and Broken Spectre growing around each other. So stars grow, hey.
Aria
Just like any other living thing!
something
I like how you just dug up a german word, i would have never come up with.
Oh, and i like how Ulrich acts almost fatherly (at least to me) to calm her down, is that intended?
Aria
I do as much research as I can of course, but Ulrich hasn’t spoken German regularly since he was young so I imagine it’s a little unnatural sometimes! Also pet names are silly nonsense in any language hehe
I didn’t have “fatherly” in mind exactly, but I guess it’s not too far off! Ulrich is definitely the realist/reasonable side of this team right now, so he helps keep Phineas grounded when she gets too caught up in what’s around her. Gently and patiently talking a friend through an emotional episode could certainly be considered a parental thing to do.
