HOO MAN I’m gonna be honest with you guys, as excited as I’ve been about everything that’s happened I’d been dreading drawing this chapter and I’m feeling pretty good about surviving it. I hope you liked it too! I am equally apprehensive about the entirety of this arc but I’ll do my best to keep the ship afloat~

uhhh announcements. There’s new buttons along the top of the page! I thought it might be a good idea to make the various Kidd Commander presences a little more visible, so people don’t have to dig through the FAQ to discover they like. Exist. We got:

-The Google Drive full of various fanfiction, which updates sporadically with stuff from me and also whoever feels like submitting to it. I decided not to post the backlog of KC art I’ve been sent because it would be a pain to go through and get permission from everybody, but if you have any stuff you’d like me to post please send it in! There are guidelines in the first document in the drive.

-A link to the Discord! The bulk of both the KC community and also my social media presence, currently (though I am also on Mastodon). For clarification, because I got a few questions about it: there’s no like, patreon paywall or anything related to this! If you’re enjoying the comic and want to hang out with folks and discuss shit, or post photos of your cat, we’d be happy to have you.

-The Kidd Commander fanwiki! which was very kindly set up by the lovely reader Sage.

-The TVTropes page! Which was set up by the lovely reader Charibouchat. Feel free to add to both of these, there’s…..a considerable amount of filing to be done, if you’re into cataloguing the nitty gritty details of the fiction you consume.

Let’s do something weird and come back on a Friday; the comic will resume updating on Friday the 20th. I’m working on a print book for a convention I’m tabling at in September so I’m gonna go ahead and guess we’re going to run into schedule issues pretty bad just because I’ve got to fit in 24 extra pages Somewhere, but I hate to be defeatist, so I’m gonna try real hard and get a buffer going anyway. One of these days I’ll get on top of my workload, y’all.

      hehe, we kinda went over it in the discord when the last page went up but FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHER PEOPLE IN THE COMMENT SECTION; what probably happened was Drunk Phin threw herself over his lap and he was all HNNGH WHY THIS but she’s comfy and happy (and might not even remember this) so Ulrich’s like fiiiine dumbass. Additionally: Ulrich is probably hella touch starved so while Human brain is Discomfort, Lizard Brain is Finally Some Affection I Cry
      
      UNFORTUNATELY today i didn’t really have three or four extra panels to dedicate to Ulrich being uncomfortable siiigh. Later.

So much trust between them. Whatever happens later, that’s that.
And sad Ulrich, is he thinking of Bel, did he try to save her and couldn’t?
Aaaaaah… Such a chapter end… Even if you need three weeks to get a buffer, I won’t mind, I’ll read this page over and over 😉

Ah, very cute! I can’t remember why Ulrich has the single blue nail, but I’m guessing it’s significant?

Also, in panel 4, Phineas’ right hand looks like a left hand? Maybe?

  oh my GOD i absolutely drew her hand backwards lmfao kill me. I took a photo reference and everything!! This comes very close to happening pretty often, I flip the canvas constantly and sometimes I lose track of orientations. Oh well.
